Adelle: Hey Mom. Guess what?
Me: What?
Adelle: I have a boyfriend.
Me: You do?
Adelle: Yep. I am in love with Gabe. He wears rainbow socks and has brown hair.
Me: Well, with rainbow socks, I certainly see the appeal. Does Gabe know he's your boyfriend?
Adelle: Well, I told him on Friday that I was in love with him. He just laughed and said "That's silly".
Me: Well, thankfully you and Gabe have plenty of time until you get married.
Adelle: Yeah.
Sigh.
